Slow Down
I was struck with the very honest realization this week that I needed to slow down. I needed to be more intentional. Not for my own sake, but for the sake of my family. You can be busy and on top of everything, as you are, but it doesn’t mean that we can let the most important part of being a mother and a wife go. We have to slow down so we don’t miss, forget and trample with our to-do.
Procrastinating Relationships
I've always had this longing for a rooted community, a place that felt familiar, a place that was accepting- a home that I could be a part of. The problem? Anxiety breeds procrastination and procrastination breeds isolation & I am a procrastinator with extreme anxiety. Can you relate? Have you ever put off something you desperately wanted & needed because you just couldn’t get past the first step?
Be Still
Have you ever read the verse “Be still and know that I am God” and been like what the heck God, do you realize how much is going on right now? How am I supposed to be still? How am I supposed to just not be anxious and just rest in you- what does that even mean to “Be still”, I have responsibilities and goals and problems?! Relatable, right? Let’s talk about it and how we can approach this realistically as busy, burdened people and children of God.
Back to Basics
Have you felt like you’ve been under attack lately? There’s a lot being thrown at us from all directions. I think it’s time we go back to the basics. Back to the gospel, back to scripture and back to the why & the faith that gets us to our message from our mess. Welcome back for season two!
You Can Be Brave
Are you brave enough to believe that God will show up? Let's explore the concept of bravery and what it looks like when we stop relying on ourselves.
(Not) A Pinterest Mom
The comparison game is REAL, but it doesn't have to be. Pinterest and Instagram, as great as they can be, are only a sliver of real life. We have an opportunity to use them as inspiration instead of idolization. We have the choice to make between authenticity and competing for the most likes. We can either choose to embrace our families for what they are or push them to the side for the sake of feeling popular. Which will you choose?
Coping With Anxiety
Although the stigma around mental health has gotten increasingly better, I don’t see many people talking about how to naturally prevent bouts of anxiety or cope through them so that they don’t get worse. So let’s talk about it.
Grafted: How God Sees You
In a world that is constantly knocking to define our self worth and value, we must refocus on where our value truly lies- with WHOM our value truly lies within. Here is a reminder of how you can become grafted into God and how He sees you. It is an encouragement that I hope you will take with you and listen to when you struggle to see just how much He loves you.
Is Self Care Selfish?
The fad that is self care, while important, has often struck a nerve with me. So I want to pose the question, is self care selfish? Should followers of Jesus be hyper focused on self-care or is there a way to find rejuvenation & take care of oneself while also focusing on God? Let's chat.
Navigating Friendship Breakups
Friendships can be challenging. As we navigate who we allow to influence our lives through our time and conversations, people inevitably make their way in and out. So what do you do when you're on the receiving end of a friendship breakup? Whether it happens naturally or it has a defining end, it can be painful. Let's talk about it.
As-You-Are Summer
I have been on a journey with my body for a few years and just as I have come to a bit of a pivotal moment, I've found myself once more discouraged by society and the latest trends that are fighting for my attention. I'm sure many of you will be able to relate, no matter where you're at with your health journey. Today I want to remind you of who God says you are in Him, why we should be taking care of ourselves and what that looks like this summer as we let go of all the expectations.
Anxious About Anxiety
Have you ever felt anxious about your anxiety? Maybe there's anxiety about your mental state because of the church and what they teach about what God says about anxiety? I know I've been there and have often been talked down to and made to feel ashamed about having mental health issues because of certain passages. So today I want to encourage you, speak truth over you and remind you that God loves you and He's not surprised by what you're going through and He doesn't want you to walk in it alone. I hope you find some solidarity in knowing that I've walked this road as well.
Angry Mommy Syndrome
Let's talk: postpartum rage. I know it's not something we usually talk about because frankly, it's embarrassing and it can feel shameful. But when those hormones are raging, your baby is screaming and you feel like you're the only one on earth who can't keep it together, you need to know that this is normal and that you are in fact very much, not alone.
The Process of Processing
I'm honored to share my friend Cassie's testimony about how she's processing her trauma and the process that God has walked her through to heal. She's talking about spiritual warfare, how it's effecting her family and how she's handling it. I also want to add a TRIGGER WARNING to let you know that she will be mentioning childhood trauma that includes sexual assault. I invite you to listen in and find solidarity in the spiritual battle that we're all facing in one way or another.
Becoming A Homemaker
I’m back from my mid-season break and while I was gone I learned a lot about resting, being brave and stepping into my role as Godly wife, mother and homemaker.
It’s Not Personal
Having experienced two miscarriages of my own and getting pregnant with our double rainbow baby a year after we started trying, I know how hard it is when people talk about how easy it is to get pregnant. It can be so hurtful, even when it’s not intentional. I want to open this conversation up to those who are struggling to get pregnant, struggling with loss, infertility, secondary infertility and hopefully open the eyes of those who have been fortunate not to face those issues. I also want to make those of you who are walking through this season in one way or another feel seen, heard and loved and hopefully help you navigate the pregnancies happening all around you, even when it hurts horribly.
Good Advice
We are celebrating my second wedding anniversary and rather than talk all about us, I thought it would be fun to share some of the advice that we got at our wedding in hope that it may be able to help inspire you and your relationship!
Women Uplifting Women
There are few things that break my heart more than women who tear down women simply because they disagree with them. People are people regardless of if you agree or not and in a world where we can spout off our thoughts in seconds, we need to be much more intentional to be kind, have grace and uplift others, even when we disagree. That is how we will make a change.
No Coincidences
This week on the Solidarity Podcast I am connecting you with Erica, a mother, wife, writer & newly published author. Erica shares with us a beautiful story of how God has orchestrated her life from meeting her husband halfway around the world to having her baby boy at just the right time, despite outside opinions. You don't want to miss this story!
